Local Training Programs

Focused on the novice triathlete, START 2 Tri is a 12-week program designed to prepare you for your first triathlon experience. This program incorporates group training sessions as well as a home training plan, and includes specific instruction focused on swimming, biking, running and strength training. If you will be interested in taking this class for the 2016 triathlon year, keep an eye on this website for more information, or contact the North Platte Recreation Center. Signups usually begin in December/January.

Tri-Masters is a group swim training program for all ability levels and is tailored for both triathletes and fitness swimmers. Whether you are an Ironman triathlete or love to swim for general fitness, interval-style workouts maximize the aerobic, anaerobic, and calorie-burning potential of swimming. Group workouts encourage and challenge you to reach your potential in the pool. Triathlon targeted goal races for triathletes include: the James O'Rourke Memorial Triathlon in April; and the Boulder 70.3 Ironman in August.
